Acurium was approached to find an Endocrinologist for a 44 year old male based in Buckinghamshire, UK, who had been experiencing all the symptoms of hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone levels).

The Team provided the profiles of two eminent Consultants, one local to the client and one based at a leading London Private Hospital. The client was able to choose which of the clinician profiles he preferred and an appointment was arranged. The client’s treatment was successful and he went on make a full recovery.

A leading London Businessman stubbed his big toe playing football with friends. He went to see a Private GP in London who arranged an X-ray of the foot which was reported as ‘normal’. He remained convinced that something was wrong so his PA tried to book an appointment with a number of Foot and Ankle specialists in London. The earliest appointment she was offered was in 10 days.

Acurium were contacted and the Team immediately arranged for an MRI of the foot. The MRI showed a compressed fracture of the big toe. One of London’s leading Foot and Ankle Consultants was called and the businessman was seen later that morning. The whole process from diagnostic imaging to seeing a specialist took less than 4 hours.

An 8 year old girl had been suffering from regular abdominal pains. The mother took her daughter to a local Paediatrician but was not particularly happy with the advice received so asked Acurium to recommend a suitable clinician to undertake a second opinion.

After a couple of calls were made, Acurium arranged for the daughter to be seen by a specialist Paediatric Gastroenterologist at one of London’s leading private Hospitals. The cause of the abdominal pains was readily identified and the appropriate treatment regime implemented. Both mother and daughter were delighted with the outcome of the second opinion.

A UK family were finding it increasingly difficulty to provide the right care and support for a much loved elderly relative. The relative did not want to feel like a burden but at the same time did not feel as if he was ready to go into residential care. His preferred option was to stay in his own home for as long as possible.

The family asked Acurium to help them find a suitable carer solution. The Team made contact with a partner organisation who specialise in delivering bespoke domiciliary nursing and carer packages. Acurium were able to help facilitate a perfect compromise for both the family and their elderly relative.

The CEO of a global company was holidaying with his family in Portugal when he ‘cricked’ his neck sleeping in an awkward position. After a couple of days in discomfort, the Company requested that Acurium dispatch a specialist musculoskeletal Physiotherapist from the UK to assess and treat his condition.

The Physiotherapist stayed in a local hotel and worked on the CEO several times a day for four days until the problem was resolved. The CEO was able to continue enjoying his much needed rest and recuperation, with the minimum of disruption to his all important family time.
